Compo Rules

Just a quick reminder about the theme of this compo.

Theme

Chord-emulating Arpeggios!

Rules

• Your remix should prominently showcase brisk arpeggios emulating chords, comprising a minimum of 3 distinct notes each. There are no limiting rules, your remix is free to incorporate even full-fledged chords featuring concurrently played notes.

Voting

Each voter could vote on which entries they wanted placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Voting took place online at Remix64.com, and attendees at the BIT Live 2023 party could also submit their votes on a piece of paper (which were turned into a simple machine-readable CSV file). Both online and analog votes were then counted by a Python script as follows:

• 1st place votes got 3 points
• 2nd place votes got 2 points
• 3rd place votes got 1 point

The total number of points for each entry determined the final list of winners.

Rules

• Remixers voting on their own entries had that specific vote disqualified.
• Voters who voted the same tune for 2 different places had their entire ballots disqualified.

Participation

• There were a total of 12 valid entries to the compo.
• We received 58 online votes.
• We received 5 analog votes on paper at the event.
• There were no invalid ballots, but 1 placement vote was eliminated due to a rule break.
